This year’s featured artist, Vernon T. Bateman, brings both powerful talent and an extraordinary story.
After enduring 27 years of wrongful conviction, his work has gained recognition locally and internationally, reaching audiences as far as Tokyo, Japan, where his children’s books are now part of English language curriculum. Despite ongoing legal challenges, Vernon continues to uplift others through his art, advocacy, and unwavering spirit.
